Texas Health Care Adds Three New Physicians

FORT WORTH – Texas Health Care, a multispecialty physician group practice, is adding three new physician members: Carrie Morris, M.D. (Oculoplastic Surgery), Torrance Walker, M.D. (Orthopedic Surgery) and Brian Welsh M.D. (Obstetrics and Gynecology).

“Texas Health Care is proud to welcome Drs. Morris, Walker, and Welsh to our group,” said Larry Tatum, M.D., CEO of Texas Health Care. “These three physicians are committed to the Texas Health Care mission of providing exceptional care to every patient, every time.”

Texas Health Care is different from many physician groups because it has no outside ownership interest. Its physicians are members, not employees – they work only for themselves and their patients. Physicians are able to take advantage of the comprehensive administrative support that Texas Health Care provides for all of its members, allowing them to focus on health care. In addition, all physicians – even the newest members – have an equal say in the governance of the group.

Dr. Carrie Morris is an oculoplastic surgeon practicing in Fort Worth and Colleyville. She is a graduate of the University of Alabama Medical School and completed her residency at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Morris has extensive experience in the full scope of oculofacial plastic surgery, including eyelid and orbital trauma reconstruction, along with eyelid and orbital tumors and incisional and CO2 laser resurfacing.

Board certified in Cosmetic Laser Surgery with an additional board certification in Cosmetic Laser Procedures, Dr. Morris is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. She is currently a member of the Junior League of Fort Worth and Prestonwood Plano Baptist Church.

Dr. Torrance Walker is an orthopedic surgeon who practices in Fort Worth at the Texas Health Care Bone and Joint Clinic. Dr. Walker received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine in Little Rock, Arkansas. Upon graduation, he completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is experienced and skilled in a broad repertoire of surgical fields, but his passion for hip and knee surgery led him to dedicate his practice to providing solutions for arthritic joints. He completed an advanced total joint replacement fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at the world-renowned Campbell Clinic in Memphis, TN after practicing for five years in private practice.

Dr. Walker has performed thousands of knee and joint replacement surgeries. He is an expert who offers hip and knee surgery with the latest techniques, including joint replacement, robotic-assisted knee surgery, partial knee resurfacing, arthroscopic and reconstructive knee surgery, hip arthroscopy, direct anterior hip replacement, revision hip and knee replacement, joint preservation, and cartilage restoration.

Dr. Brian Welsh is an OB/GYN who practices in Keller. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and completed his residency at East Tennessee State University Quillen College of Medicine and the University of Oklahoma Medical Center, where he received student awards for teaching in all four years of his residency.

As he trained at the referral center for all high-risk obstetrics in the State of Oklahoma, Dr. Welsh had the opportunity to run a high-volume and high-acuity obstetrics unit. This provided him with the knowledge and experience to handle the majority of complications that might arise during a pregnancy.

Dr. Welsh is a strong believer in the practice of evidence-based medicine and is keenly interested in the relationship between health and nutrition. He enjoys using his knowledge in both of these areas to make a difference for his patients. He says the most rewarding part of his job is “I get to play a small role in the most exciting time for any family.”

About Texas Health Care: Texas Health Care is a multi-specialty physician group practice, owned and governed by physicians, for physicians. We are wholly owned by our membership of more than 150 physicians practicing throughout Tarrant County.

Because there is no outside ownership or hospital interest, we have created a professional environment for our physician members that allows them to focus their time on their patients and get the most fulfillment out of their practice. By providing administrative, compliance and billing support for our members, our physicians spend more time doing what they love – taking care of their patients.
