Texas Health Care Welcomes Robert Reddix, Jr., MD – Orthopedic Surgery

Dr. Reddix was born in Hayti, Missouri. He is a West Point graduate and an Army Veteran. He attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine and completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas. Dr. Reddix completed an Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Dr. Reddix has been practicing in Fort Worth since 2007 at John Peter Smith Hospital. In addition to teaching orthopedic trauma courses across the country, he has received teaching awards, as well as many awards for his clinical research. He has had the opportunity to serve in leadership roles in many capacities, including Chief of Staff for the John Peter Smith Hospital District.

Dr. Reddix’s patient care philosophy first embraces surgical excellence in the operating room by working with a patient care team trained specifically in Orthopaedic Trauma. He and his team pride themselves on performing efficient modern Orthopaedic Trauma techniques to include small incision and minimally invasive surgeries. His practice focus is the management of fractures and complications of broken bones to include non-unions, malunions and bone infections.

His interests outside of medicine include martial arts, scuba diving, fishing, comic book collecting, movies and travel. Dr. Reddix married his wife, Tongla, in 1991 and they have three beautiful children.
